Topic: Ensure that Iraq takes charge of its own future and develops a stable, peaceful society.
Acting under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations,
Understanding that the establishment of a stable economy is vital to the success of a central, stable government,
Desiring to aid Iraq in experiencing a smooth, nonviolent transition from its previous national state,
Emphasizing the need for a concerted global effort to reconstruct Iraq,
Encouraging Iraq to continue its development of a prosperous internal oil industry in Iraq, so as to facilitate a steady source of economic income,
Acknowledging the need to develop alternative industries not based on petrochemicals,
Expecting Coalition Forces to greatly reduce, and ultimately cease, their presence in Iraq as soon as a stable government has been established, and not to be replaced by any other foreign power,
1. Emphasizes that while conflicting issues must be resolved efficiently and quickly, absolute completion and security of stability is the collective body’s primary goal;
2. Urges Iraq to begin to manage its own economic well-being in the form of greater control over its major resources, specifically oil;
3. Endorses a three-point plan aimed at training leaders, promoting democracy, and facilitating efficient public services:
• Continue to aid the Iraqi media in developing programs (ie. Infomercials, brochures…) that endorse broad-based participation in the political process
• Establish a communicatory network of global democratic leaders from all establishments to counsel, advise, and regulate the activity of Iraqi officials
• Appoint officials to regularly to inspect public service facilities (schools, hospitals, transportation offices etc) to ensure safety, termination of discrimination, and professionalism;
4. Suggests the expansion of global trade as a permanent solution to Iraq’s and other developing nations’ monetary issues;
5. Recommends that Iraq should maintain a working relationship with other OIC nations;
6. Decides to remain actively seized of the matter;
